My Fav Make Up Products for Sensitive Skin
I’ve always loved make up. When I was young, nothing brought me joy like being absolutely covered in glitter and blue or purple eye shadow. As young adult, a nice sharp cat eye gave me confidence to get through several job interviews and awkward first dates. Then came the years of self neglect as a mom raising kiddos. Fast forward to today. Finally at a stage of life where I can carve out some time in the mornings to drink coffee that’s actually still warm and take time to get ready in the morning again. Except for all of my old looks are now a touch dated. Throw into the mix the fact I most likely have MCAS and it feels like a game of Russian roulette introducing any new products, it’s been a bit of a challenge. Below are a list of things I have found that (knock on wood!) I haven’t had any reactions to yet! And that align with my goal to have a more dewy, glowy look rather than the matte look I had been going for. As always even you are a fellow sensitive skin girlie, please listen to your body and seek medical attention immediately if you have any reactions flaring up! *Some links on this website may contain links to our Amazon affiliate. First I start with the Sun Bum Daily Glow moisturizer . It has been my absolutely favorite find I have been overly excited for. I can’t forget to put on sunscreen when it’s part of my make up! But be warned, a little goes a longgg way. Too much can make your face super sticky. So start with way less than you think you would need and slowly build from there!
Then I add ColourPop Hi-Lite Dewy Liquid Highlighter. I was really hesitant to try as it’s not from an explicitly sensitive skin brand. However I am happy to report after multiple uses I still have yet to have any issues with it! I use just a small amount on my cheekbones and a drop on the tip of my nose.
After brushing my eyebrows I lightly fill them in. Eyebrows make such a difference if there is only one thing I have time for, it would be brows. I’ve been using Milani Stay Put Brow Color - Dark Brown.
I then curl my lashes and sometimes add some Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara. I’m just as surprised as you are that the exact one we used in our youth has been the absolute best. But after trying several other brands that leave my eyes feeling itchy, this is still the one.
Then I throw on some chapstick and call it a day. I’m still playing around and would love to hear other brands that work well for you!
